Itinerary

Day 1

Accommodation Pilanesberg. (3 Nights, camp to be advised)

Fly Cape Town to Johannesburg (Lanseria or OR Tambo International)

We collect you from Lanseria airport - travel via Hartbeespoort dam where we stop off for lunch and refreshments. Thereafter onto Pilanesberg National Park a malaria free area with abundant of game in particular elephants and rhino. The Pilanesberg is also home to the well known Big 5 namely elephant, lion, rhino, buffalo and leopard. Cheetah and wild-dogs are often seen aswell.

 

Day 2, 3

Accommodation Pilanesberg

Over the next few days we explore this extinct volcano, enjoying dramatic landscapes supporting a wide variety of plants, animals and birds.

Pilanesberg accommodates virtually every mammal of southern Africa. 

An abundance of wild life proliferates in some 580 km² of diverse and arresting bush-veld terrain. 

We visit a number of hides and Pilanesberg Center which was the old Magistrates Court of days gone by. This is a popular rest stop with a curio shop overlooking a watering hole frequented by a variety of animals.

 

Day 4

Overnight Lesedi

Depart from Pilanesberg for Lesedi Cultural Village. En-route we visit Hartbeespoort, the dam area and enjoy lunch.

Lesedi Cultural Village provides the visitor with a better understanding of the rich diverse

cultural background of the African people. Experience a vibrant dancing show put and enjoy a buffet African feast eating as much as you like.

 

Day 5

De Wildt Cheetah Center - Last day of another fabulous tour

In the morning we visit De Wildt Cheetah Center as it is commonly known.

DID YOU KNOW? The first KING CHEETAH was born at De Wildt. Other successful breeding and relocation projects are; Wild dog, Brown Hyena, Suni, Duiker, Cape vulture, Riverine rabbit and other.

 

De Wildt history quoted from Wikipedia...

"​The center is situated on what was originally Van Dyk's parent's chicken farm, which they acquired in 1950. Due to her compassionate nature, Ann soon had a collection of stray and injured animals on the farm. Then, in October 1968, a local farmer offered her two cheetah cubs, which she accepted.
