ITINERARY

DAY 1: Transfer from Gauteng (406 km’s)
•    Accommodation in Sudwala area

Depart at 06h00 from Johannesburg to Sudwala via the N4 and Schoemans Kloof. Along the route we visit places of interest to ensure an exciting day. The highlights of today will be a tour of the Sudwala Caves near Sabie.

DAY 2: Panorama Tour (90 km's)
•    Accommodation Swadini Forever Resort

En-route we visit Lone Creek Falls in Sabie, Gods Window (Wonder view), Lisbon Falls, Berlin Falls, Bourke's Luck Potholes, Blyde River Canyon (3 Rondavels).
We will also stop on the Abel Erasmus Pass near the Strijdom Tunnel for a possible sighting of the rarest bird in the world, the Taita Falcon and only discovered in South Africa in 1990. A nesting pair in the mountains opposite the curio sellers are often seen.
(A sighting cannot be guaranteed)

Enjoy your stay at Swadini set at the foot of the Drakensberg mountains, in sub-tropical surroundings were it is never really winter whilst watching Kudu’s and Impalas grazing in full view.

DAY 3: Moholoholo / Blyde River Canyon dam boat trip
•    Accommodation Swadini Forever Resort

Depart at 08h30 for a guided tour of the Moholoholo Animal Rehabilitation Centre. Duration of the tour is 2 ½ hours. You will have an opportunity to touch a cheetah and feed a vulture from your arm. Learn about wild dog behaviour, see lions which used to be pet animals, but grown to big. This is a very interesting tour and well worth a visit.
  # Boat trip on Swadini dam
A garden lunch will be enjoyed in the area after which we board the boat at 15h00 for a panoramic tour on the Blyde River Canyon dam with abundance of wildlife. Embrace yourself for spectacular views from dam level of the Three Rondavels and the 2nd tallest Kadisahi Tufa falls on earth. (200m).

DAY 4: Kruger National Park - Orpen / Satara (107 km’s)
•    Accommodation Camp Satara Kruger Park

We check out from Swadini Aventura after breakfast and ready to go at 09h00 for the Kruger Park, but first we have to visit Khamai Reptile Park in Hoedspruit.

Kruger Park is the ultimate game experience in South Africa, and a birders paradise.
En-route to Satara we have hours of game viewing driving riverine areas and stopping at watering holes.
We only use comfortable en-suite chalets fitted with insect screens, or you may choose the more adventurous options like semi luxury safari tents and camping. We will quote accordingly.
Kruger Park is home to an impressive number of species: 336 trees, 49 fish, 34 amphibians, 114 reptiles, 507 birds and 147 mammals.

DAY 5: Kruger Park - Game drives in the Satara area
•    Accommodation Camp Satara Kruger Park

We awake to the songs of birds with a sense of excitement for the day that lies ahead as we drive off into the Kruger wilderness.
The Satara area is known for attracting large herds of animals which in return attract the predators and is famous for Lion and Cheetah sightings. Rare species apparently found here are Sable, Eland, Nyala, Black and White Rhino. Rest assure to see more animals than ever imagined.

We will visit camp Olifants for breakfast, which is scenically the most dramatically setting of all the camps in the Kruger National Park and later Letaba visiting the Elephant Museum which has a display of the big tuskers tusks and interesting information regarding elephants. After lunch and time permitting we may go as far north as the Tropic of Capricorn.

DAY 6: Depart for Skukuza or Pretoruiskop ( 99 )
•    Accommodation Kruger Park

Breakfast will be at the camp once again after which we leave for Skukuza. En-route we visit the scenically beautiful Orpen look-out hide and subject to road conditions (sometimes flooded in the rainy season) we will visit the Big Baobab Tree near Tsokwane where we will stop for lunch. For our last night in paradise and subject to availability we will overnight preferably at Skukuza. Dinner will be served at the old Skukuza railway station  now a restaurant.

DAY 7: Horizon of Paradise (460 km’s)
•    Return transfer

Today with much regret this truly exciting, enjoyable and unusual tour comes to and end.
After breakfast we leave the park after a short game drive en-route to the gate of exit, for our trip back to Gauteng.
